Changes to Park & Ride Arrangements at MetroCentre from 27 October
On 14 September 2008 we introduced our new service 10 between MetroCentre Coach Park and Newcastle. We did experience some initial reliability problems, but these have now been resolved.
Unfortunately from Monday 27 October 2008 we will not be able to offer guaranteed car parking spaces at MetroCentre.
MetroCentre has decided to allocate these spaces to staff to create extra capacity for customers in their other car parks, especially in the run up to Christmas. We will therefore be unable to use the spaces to park and ride from this date.
However, we have identified alternative free parking spaces in Blaydon town centre (see below). This public car park is only a short walk from the Bus Station, with buses on service TEN leaving every 10-15 minutes for Newcastle Quayside and the City Centre. We also run services 31, 32 and X11 from Blaydon Bus Station, which combine with the 10 to give a bus every few minutes to Newcastle City Centre. However, the 31, 32 and X11 do not serve Newcastle Quayside.

Although the existing Park and Ride tickets will be discontinued as a result of the loss of MetroCentre car parking, our £10 weekly ticket on service TEN will continue to offer a great value option for those wishing to Park and Ride from Blaydon MetroCentre area, and we hope that you may continue to use our services in conjunction with the alternative public parking sites. The TEN weekly ticket is available on the TEN service from the driver.
